Calm nights for your baby, and for you
Nanabee Sleep plays soothing sounds all night with the screen off, starts again when your baby cries, and turns two phones into a baby monitor.
Coming soon to Google Play, then the App Store.
Sounds that help babies sleep
Sounds that babies know from before they were born, or that cover the noise of the house: white, pink and brown noise, shushing, a heartbeat, a fan and a hair dryer. Rain, a sea shore and a stream, recorded in nature, and four gentle lullabies on a music box: Brahms, Schubert, Fauré and Twinkle, Twinkle. Pro adds ten more nature recordings, from a thunderstorm to crickets and a crackling fireplace, and eight more lullabies, among them Ave Maria and Clair de lune. Tap one and it plays at once; tap another and it moves over smoothly.
- All night, without a gap. Each sound loops seamlessly, with no click or pause that could wake your baby.
- With the screen off. The sound keeps playing when the phone is locked, with pause and stop on the lock screen.
- A timer that fades out. 15, 30 or 60 minutes or all night. When the time is up, the sound fades away instead of stopping suddenly.
- Night mode. A black screen with dim text, so the phone does not light up the room. Tap anywhere to leave it.
Mix your own sound
Turn on the mixer and layer up to three sounds, for example rain with a soft heartbeat and a little shushing. Each sound has its own volume slider, and the whole mix keeps playing all night like a single sound.
Your own voice
Sing a lullaby, hum or shush the way you usually put your baby to sleep, up to three minutes. Listen to it, record it again if you like, and give it a name. Your recording then loops like the other sounds, so someone else can put your baby to bed with your voice. Recordings stay on this phone only.
Routines
A routine plays sounds one after the other, on its own, as your baby falls asleep. Each step has a sound and a length of 5 to 60 minutes, and the last one can keep playing until you stop it. The app starts you off with a "Bedtime" routine: five minutes of shushing, ten of a heartbeat, then an hour of brown noise. Make your own, rename it and start it with one tap.
AI cry detection, on your phone
When the sound has stopped, Sleep can keep listening, also with the screen locked. A small AI model that runs on the phone itself recognises the sound of a baby crying, not a dog, the TV or a vacuum cleaner, the way a simple loudness meter would. When it hears crying, it plays the last sound again for 15 minutes, and you can see in the history how often that happened.
- Three sensitivities. Low reacts only to loud crying; high also hears soft crying, but other sounds may set it off more often.
- Works offline. The model is part of the app, so it needs no internet.
- Private. The microphone sound is analysed on the phone and never recorded, stored or sent anywhere.
Night light
The whole screen glows softly in a calm colour, as bright or as dim as you like: drag up or down to change the brightness. Red and amber, which disturb sleep the least, are one tap away.
- Eight colours, from red and amber to blue and green, or a rainbow that drifts slowly through all of them.
- Five effects: steady, a slow breathing glow, a flickering candle, a heartbeat and twinkling stars.
- Ready-made scenes such as Sunset, Campfire, Mum's heart, Starry night and Ocean, or tap the dice or shake the phone for a surprise colour and effect.
- A timer that turns the light off on its own.
Baby monitor
Two phones on the same Wi-Fi become a baby monitor: an old phone next to the crib, and your own phone with you. Scan the code on the baby phone once; after that, the phones find each other on your Wi-Fi with one tap.
- Hear and see your baby. Listen live, turn on the video when you want to look, and mute when you don't need to.
- A cry alert. The parent phone tells you when your baby is crying.
- Control the baby phone from your own. Start or stop a sound, change the volume and the timer, and turn the night light on or off with its colour and effect, without going into the room.
- Never leaves your home. Sound and video go straight from phone to phone over your Wi-Fi, not through the internet or a server.
- Pro on one phone. Only the parent phone needs Pro; the baby phone works with the free app.
History of your nights
Every sound and routine you play is saved as a night: when it started, how long it played, whether the timer ended it or you did, and how often cry detection played it again.
Free and Pro
The noises, rain, sea and stream, the lullabies, the timer, playing with the screen off and night mode are free, without ads and without an account. Pro adds ten more nature recordings and eight more lullabies, the mixer, your own voice, routines and history, AI cry detection, the night light and the parent side of the baby monitor. Try every Pro feature free for 14 days, without a card, then choose yearly, monthly or lifetime Pro, or keep the free version.
Keep the phone at least 2 metres from the crib, never inside it, and the volume below 50 dB; the app shows how. Nanabee Sleep is not a medical device and does not replace watching your baby.
